You can not open a bank account in the United States without signing something. There is a law call "The Patriot Act" that requires government issued identification to be presented along with your signature on various documents which that financial institution will require. Sometimes you can print the required documents on that financial institutions website and mail them back along with a copy of your ID and check or money order.
