Apply for a green card/work permit from the USCIS, or for U.S. citizenship. Either will allow you to join the U.S. military if you meet all other requirements.

Do you mean, you want do join black water? If you are legally in the country, I bet you can join the armed forces. Choose one. My advise is the national guard, after all, we all need extra help around here too. If you prefer, you can join your local law enforcement force, become a cop, finish some extra curricular training. After you become a experienced professional, go ahead and apply for jobs in the private sector. In Iraq, people would love to have an Iraqi in their ranks.

You have to have a permanent green card to join the US Army. There is no way around it.
