this is 100% true, and its hard to believe, that this is how our society runs, but, what do you think about these statistics? Regardless of where you stand on the issue of the U.S. involvement in Iraq, here's a sobering statistic: There has been a monthly average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theatre of operations during the last 22 months, and a total of 2,112 deaths. That gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers. The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 persons for the same period. That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in the U.S. Capital than you are in Iraq . Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington .

That's really funny :)

you didn't include the Iraqi citizens. they live there too. Remember?? and over 1600 were killed in December alone.

Cute. The DC numbers are drug dealers shooting each other, the Iraq situation has civilians being killed. When heroin dealers blow up children, then you can have an opinion.

Do firearms include IED's, kidnappings, and car bombs. Let me know when you go to Baghdad and walk the streets with an American flag on your shirt without an armed escort.

Hahahaha!!!! GREAT logic and conclusion!!! I would prefer to see an immediate withdrawal instead of a "phased" withdrawal, however...

in Iraq, thousands of innocent civilians are dying and plus there are car bombs and people bombing buildings. In washington, none of that is happening right now. Besides the war is taken place in Iraq. its not safer. Also as an american, Iraq is still not safe because they hate us

Best question and answer EVER. Devyn, consider yourself one of the elite. Your humble servant, Jack.

If left to the Liberals & Democrats, all deaths reported will be American. Afterall, they do want the war to be taking place on our soil instead of Iraq so that the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians can be US civilians instead.

You are a very delusional person, you cannot compare Iraq to DC, the premises of both are differing. Iraq = innocent civilians being killed for control of a Government and US occupation. DC = scumbags who are a part of drug, gangs, and crime.

Actually, you are completely wrong with your statistics. That was started as an email, but if you actually look it up, it is wrong for many reasons. even add up your own figures. 2,112 deaths in 22 months is about 1200 in a year. that divided by 160,000 is .0075, per person. that is 750 per 100,000.
