The Iraq of today with a democracy and freedom. Or The Iraq of Saddam with dictatorship? Before you say claim we aimed for innocent babies and such just remember what it was like before Saddam.

If I was Sunni, I would definitely prefer the Iraq of Saddam If I was a Kurd, I would definitely prefer today. If I was Shiite, I would prefer today.

The answer to that totally depends on if I would be an American, Sunni, or Shea. My answer as an American would be the following: 1) During Saddam, pre Gulf War 1 because if you didn't try to revolt against the government, you wouldn't be tortured and gassed. 2) then during Saddam pre Gulf War 2, because at least Saddam didn't merge religion with government. 3) and finally post Gulf War 2, with the ground littered with depleted uranium, Al' Queda wingnuts now in the country, with fewer public services because America blew them up, destroyed infrastructure, Abu Gareb, black prisions, CIA, and constant gun fire and explosions make it a lousy place to live. That is why 5 million people have fled Iraq to Syria, Egypt, etc. Who in the HELL would want to live there now except the people stuck there, those wanting "Holy War," and those wanting oil money? Saddam may have killed 300,000 of his own people, but over a 1,000,000 Iraqis have died because of Gulf War 2 (British source) and over 500,000 died because of Gulf War 1. Suddenly it isn't looking so black and white. Notice how Senator Oralee Tyngle (D) busted all that out in 4 minutes? Huh.

Its not up to you or us to decide. Its up to the Iraqi's to decide. How would we know what it was like before Saddam? Were you living in Iraq then? How do you know that there is "democracy and freedom" in Iraq today? Are you living there right now? How do you know that majority of Iraqi wants "democracy and freedom" ? Are you an Iraqi? Can you speak on behalf of the majority of people living there?

Iraq of today. Saddam Hussein murdered 300,000 of his own people. There has been stories where an Iraqi's cousin is shot and killed by Saddam and that Iraqi was forced to pay for the bullet. Another story is a person was forced to join the Iraqi military and fight the Americans because Saddam held his five daughters hostage.

I went to Iraq several times while Saddam was in power. It was a beautiful peaceful country. Now it is a total mess where no one is safe to walk the streets.
