There will be peace only if both sides of the dispute come to realize that there has been enough bloodshed, and come to a compromise of the issues at odds. There is no other way.

we they can start by getting saddam out of power, well wait, we did that for them. then they can start by forming an independent goverment, no wait we did that too. well, i supose they need to form a top notch military power. oh hell we did that for them too. well i supose they can keep following our guidance, and learning to take control of their own country, and everything should be fine!!!

Peace in the Middle East has been tentative at best for over 4000 years, so I don't think it's realistic to think that the solution will be an overnight one... especially while they are still feeling the direct effects of extremist individual terrorism on a daily basis. Once terrorism can be fought on the streets by the regular citizens, and when terrorist groups aren't being funded as easily, it should calm down somewhat.
